Description
The Vapor Intrusion Screening Level (VISL) calculator is a risk-based screening tool used to identify sites or buildings where vapor intrusion may be a concern, as well as those that may not require further evaluation. It models chemicals that are sufficiently volatile and pose human health risks. The VISL calculator generates inhalation health risk estimates for residential and commercial/industrial scenarios from measured chemical concentrations in soil gas, indoor air, and groundwater.
AVIP has developed an in-depth dive into the EPA Vapor Intrusion Screening Level (VISL) Calculator. Upon completion of this course, practitioners will be able to effectively utilize the VISL calculator to accurately determine a variety of vapor intrusion screening levels and calculate appropriate risk levels (both carcinogenic and hazard quotients) based on user input. In addition to learning how to operate the calculator, practitioners will be guided through real-world examples demonstrating the practical application of the VISL calculator.
