The course includes a comprehensive and easy to use format of video instruction which allows you to study the material at your own pace. The video instruction is supplemented with a Course Manual and with many extra supplemental resources which includes audio interviews with experts within the radon industry. This course is designed to provide you with all the instruction you need for becoming certified as well as valuable practical advice and resources for managing your radon business. With an impressive 92% passing rate on the certification exams, these courses have proven to be successful and popular in preparing students for the certification exam and for conducting business.

There are approximately 16 hours of coursework, including watching videos; online resources such as protocols, and publications; and quizzes that are taken as you progress through the course (not timed and may be taken unlimited times). There is no time limit for taking the course, and even after completion you continue to have access to the course in order to refer back to resources.

    I found the course to be rather in depth.  More so than the classroom would be because as I finished watching the video, I utilized the additional readings, audio, or other videos, to help learn the points presented in the chapter videos.  This lead me to be able to understand more fully what was being taught in the chapter videos. 

    By not teaching to the test, and instead teaching the pertinent information, I feel I have gotten a more thorough knowledge of what is required in performing radon testing. 

    This was a difficult class, in that there are no fast and easy answers to what you might find, but the instructor, who has a vast knowledge of the subject matter, made it more easily understood with examples from every day situations he had encountered.  Made applying the material a lot easier to understand that point that was being made. 

    I would highly recommend this course to anyone who is looking to become a radon measuring professional.

Although I have a science background and was able to easily follow along with the physics/scientific background information regarding radon, I believe the course was written well enough that students without a science background would be able to understand and comprehend the “science” behind radon in residential/commercial buildings.

    This was an excellent course.  The instructor was knowledgeable with a lot of practical examples.  I enjoyed taking the online course since it allowed me to take it at a pace that fit my work schedule.  The ability to retake quizzes will make studying easier.  Areas of improvement: I did not get much out of the supplemental audio sessions and I believe some of the quiz questions to be trick questions and contradictory to the course material (I only found a few of these questions).

ANSI/AARST Measurement Standard Review

As of 2023, the National Radon Proficiency Program amended its policy regarding the renewal of its base radon measurement and mitigation certifications to require a four-hour review of the ANSI/AARST standards relevant to a specific certification.
